Go-Live Checklist for a Checkout Your AI Assistant Built

Before real customers pay through a checkout your AI assistant built, do four things: read every line of the code, run every sandbox test again including failed payments, put the live key in your server settings only, and start with one small real order. Go live slowly and watch the first payment from start to finish.

  • Read the code the assistant wrote.
  • Test success, failure and refund again.
  • Store the live key safely.
  • Start with one small real order.

1. Have you read the code?

An assistant writes fast, which makes it tempting to accept everything. Read the payment parts line by line, or ask someone who can read code to do it. Focus on the amount, the signing, the customer details, the confirmation message and the refund path. See what to check in payment code your AI wrote.

2. Have you run every test again?

Run the sandbox tests one more time on the final code: a payment that succeeds, a decline, a repeated request, a refund and a rejected request. Include the failures, because that is where hidden bugs show up. See test your EPaySe integration in the sandbox and our payment integration testing checklist.

3. Is the live key stored safely?

Only on your live server, in its settings, never in the code and never in a chat with the assistant. The sandbox key and the live key are different, and the code should read whichever one the server provides. See keep your EPaySe secret key away from your AI assistant.

4. Are your website details ready?

EPaySe checks the web address your checkout uses against the websites approved for your account, and it does not accept local or private addresses. Make sure your live address is approved. The go-live page of the documentation has the full production checklist.

5. Will you start small?

Take one small real order first and watch it from start to finish: payment, confirmation message, order status and refund if needed. Only then open the checkout to everyone. If anything looks odd, pause and fix it before the next customer.

What is still your responsibility?

The assistant writes code, but you are responsible for what real customers experience. Keep records of orders and payments, and have a way to reach the EPaySe team if something goes wrong. EPaySe is an early-stage payment gateway, still in development, and any account is reviewed and approved case by case.

Key takeaways

  • Read the code, re-run every test, store the live key safely and start small.
  • Check that your live web address is approved.
  • Watch the first real order from start to finish.
  • This is general education, not legal or financial advice.

FAQ

What should I do before going live with an AI-built checkout?

Read the code, re-run all sandbox tests including failures, store the live key in server settings and start with one small real order.

Where do I put the live key?

Only in your live server's settings, never in the code or in a chat with an AI assistant.

Do I need to test failed payments?

Yes. Failures are where hidden mistakes show, so test declines, repeated requests, refunds and rejected requests.

Why start with one small order?

It lets you watch the full flow with real money at low risk before opening the checkout to everyone.

Where is the full production checklist?
